ABOUT MONA
For more than 27 years, Niagara Falls has been my home. I am honoured to serve the community as a City Councillor and am grateful for the opportunity to represent the city where I've built my life.
Originally pursuing a career in the sciences, I earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, where I developed the analytical thinking, discipline, and problem-solving skills that continue to guide my approach to public service.
Together with my family, I own and operates franchise businesses across the Golden Horseshoe. As a small business owner, I understand the importance of hard work, responsible financial management, supporting local businesses, creating jobs, and making thoughtful decisions. My experience has given me a firsthand appreciation for the challenges and opportunities facing business owners, employees, and families.
Beyond my professional life, I am a proud member of the Rotary Club of Niagara Falls , and enjoy supporting charitable organizations such as; Easter Seals , Birchway , Project Share , Grow , SPCA , Niagara Health Foundation , and many other community initiatives and charities throughout the city.
I value the relationships I’ve built through volunteering and the opportunity it has given me to connect with people from all walks of life. These experiences have shown me that strong communities are built when neighbours come together, support one another, and work toward common goals. I’ve seen firsthand the positive impact that engaged citizens can have on improving the lives of others and strengthening the sense of belonging that makes a community thrive.
I am committed to doing my part to help preserve and enhance the qualities that make our city special. My goal is to help ensure that Niagara Falls remains a safe, vibrant, and welcoming place to live, work, and raise a family, not only today but for generations to come.
MOST IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN MY LIFE
Family is at the heart of everything I do. Dave and I have been married for 27 years and have raised our two daughters, Arrah and Arcy, here in Niagara Falls.
Like most families, our lives are busy. Between work, council meetings, community events, and university life, there is always something happening. No matter how full our schedules become, we make time for one another. Whether we're sharing a meal, enjoying a movie, taking a walk, riding our bikes, or spending time with friends, those are the moments we value most.
My family inspires me every day and motivates me to do my very best for the city we are proud to call home.
MEET JAX "the WEIM"
Jax is our beloved Weimaraner, a true mama's boy, and a very special part of our family. With his big personality, gentle heart, and endless energy, life is never dull when he's around.
When he's not supervising life from the couch, you'll usually find him on front yard and sidewalk patrol, keeping a close eye on the rabbits, squirrels, and every dog that walks by. He takes his neighbourhood watch duties very seriously and makes sure everyone knows who's in charge.
Jax loves car rides, long walks, and being wherever I am. If I'm out in the community, there's a good chance he's right beside me. He loves meeting new people, posing for pictures, and, of course, never turns down a treat. If you see us out and about, be sure to say hello. Chances are, Jax will be the first one to greet you.
